The Foreign Government Agency stream covers employees of foreign government agencies traveling to Australia for official purposes in accordance with formal arrangements between the Australian government and such government agencies. Proof of employment by a foreign government must be provided together with the letter of support of the applicant by the sponsoring agency.

The Domestic Worker (Diplomatic or Consular) stream is designed for domestic workers employed by eligible foreign government officials stationed in Australia. Give a letter of support from the employer, a copy of a contract of employment, and police clearance certificates from countries where you have resided.

- 90% of applications completed in 7 months.
The added security procedures that come with this channel may lengthen the processing time.

Privileges and Immunities Stream
The Privileges and Immunities stream applies to foreign government representatives traveling to Australia who hold privileges and immunities in accordance with international law. The applicants are to attach the relevant documentation to prove that they have the privileges and immunities as stipulated in the international agreement.
