Eligibility Criteria of Specialist Skills Stream

You must be selected to work in an occupation classified under Major Groups 1, 2, 4, 5, or 6 of the Australian and New Zealand Standard Classification of Occupations (ANZSCO) and gain a salary that fulfills the Specialist Skills Income Threshold.
You must have at least 1 year of relevant work experience in your related field or nominated occupation.
You must accept a relevant skills assessment if it is needed for your nominated occupation.
You must work only for your sponsor or an associated entity unless an exemption applies.
You must fulfill the minimum English language ability requirements unless you are cleared from demonstrating this.

Work in Australia for up to 4 years or up to 5 years if you are a Hong Kong passport holder.

You can study without receiving government assistance.

You must be or have applied to become a Standard Business Sponsor.
You must nominate the worker for an eligible occupation.
You are required to conduct labor market testing to demonstrate that no Australian worker is available to perform the job.
You have to pay the annual market salary rate.
The nominated position must be genuine.
Employ the nominee through a formal written employment contract.
You must not engage in discriminatory recruitment practices.
Employment conditions must be on par with those of Australian workers.
There must be no adverse information known about your business or any person associated with your business.
