Eligibility Criteria of Core Skills Stream
- You must be nominated for a work listed on the Core Skills Occupation List (CSOL).
- You must have at least 1 year of relevant work experience in your nominated occupation or a related occupation.
- Verify you have a valid skills assessment if it is mandatory for your occupation.
- You must work only for your sponsor or an associated entity unless you qualify for an exemption.
- You must meet the minimum English language proficiency standards unless you are exempt from this requirement.
Who Qualifies as a Family Member for This Visa?
- Your visa application can include other family members, known as 'secondary applicants.'
- Eligibility to add family members will depend on whether you hold a subclass 457 or 482 visa.

The Eligibility Criteria for Businesses to Act as Sponsors
- You must be or have applied to become a Standard Business Sponsor.
- You must nominate the worker. The occupation you nominate must be on the Core Skills Occupation List (CSOL).
- You must do Labour Market Testing to show us you can't find an Australian to do the work.
- You must pay the annual market salary rate.
- The nominated position must be genuine.
- Engage the nominee under a written contract of employment.
- You must not engage in discriminatory recruitment practices
- Employment conditions must be on par with those of Australian workers.
- There must be no adverse information known about your business or any person associated with your business.
